date speaker subject
4/23 Nakayama Research and introduction of the Nakayama laboratory.
Theory of vacancyordered compound semiconductor by the first-principlescalculation
Reviews of investigations in our lab. are presented, especially on recent studies of the crystal structures and electronic properties of vacancy ordered semiconductors.
4/30 Mikami Polarity conversion mechanism of the V-group nitride semiconductor
Backgrounds on the polarity conversion in the crystal growth of Nitride compound semiconductors are reviewed.
5/7 Kajita Introduction and prospect of the photocatalyst:
what is the photocatalyst ?
Various mechanisms of electrolysis of the water by the photocatalyst action ( Honda E Fujishima effect ) are reviewed.
5/14 Ishii Numerical calculation of flat-band excitation in the KAGOME quantum wire system
excitonic properties in the Kagome lattices are discussed, together with the future investigation plans.
5/21 Kajita Prospect and study plan of the research
Detailed experimental and theoretical reviews on the photocatalyst of titanium dioxide are presented, together with his future plans.
5/28 Oda Origin of metallic luster in organic molecules crystal
Electronic structures of the organic molecules crystal are presented and origins of metallic luster are discussed, considering the numerical problems in the calculation of benzene.
6/4 Kobayashi Simulation on the formation and disappearance of
macroscopic defects in bulk-silicon growth

The formation and annihilation processes of the stacking fault tetrahedron in Si film growth are discussed, comparing the calculation with the experimental observations.
6/11 Itaya Optical rotatory power of hexagonal selenium
Optical rotatory power spectra of hexagonal Se, which has helical structures, are calculated and compared with experiments.
6/18 Nakayama First-principles Study on Selective SiCl2 Ething of Poly-Chlorinated Si (1,1,1) Surface
Etching process of Si (1,1,1) surface by Cl atoms are discussed, comparing with observations.
6/25 Yamaguchi
(Ohtaka Lab.)
Smith Parcel radiation in the photonic crystal
Introduction of the Smith Parcel radiation and photonic crystal.
When the Smith Parcel radiation is generated in photonic crystal, the emitted spectrum reflects photonic band structure.
7/2 No class for the series of intensive lectures
7/9 Nakayama Au-Si Intermixing Mechanism at Au/Si Metal/Semiconductor Interfaces
By carrying out the first-principles calculation, it was shown that the intermixing of Au and Si at the interface originates from the diffusion of surface Si atoms.
7/16 Kajita Oxgeon defect in the titanium dioxide surface
The oxgeon defect in titanium dioxide surface may promote both photocatalyst efficiency and super hydrophilicity. To examine this idea, the plans of numerical calculation is discussed on how the oxygen escapes from the surface.
7/23 Mikami Polarity conversion mechanism of the V-group nitride semiconductor
The recent status of the research is presented.
7/30 Oda Nothing I don't know what happened ..
